About this wine

Evenstad Reserve brings together the best barrels from Domaine Serene’s estate vineyards in the Dundee Hills and greater Willamette Valley. The 2019 shows ripe red and blue fruit, dried strawberry and blueberry, with hints of rose, forest floor, spice and a touch of sandalwood from quality French oak. On the palate it is medium-plus bodied, with a fine, silky texture, vibrant acidity and layered flavour that fans out across a long, elegant finish.

Tasting Note

James Suckling notes a firm, linear Pinot with blue fruit, dried strawberry, floral notes and some herbal and bark nuances; the wine is full and tight, with intensity and structure that call for a few years of further bottle ageing.

In the glass

Medium ruby with good brightness.

In the nose

Red cherry, blueberry and dried strawberry with rose, spice and forest floor.

On the palate

Silky yet structured, with ripe red and blue fruit, fine tannins, lively acidity and a long, elegant finish.

Domaine serene

Domaine Serene is a leading Oregon estate, specialising in high-quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Dundee Hills and beyond. Detailed vineyard work and a Burgundian approach in the cellar yield wines of polish, balance and age-worthy structure. They show a refined, cool-climate expression that has helped put Oregon on the world fine-wine map.
