About this wine

Caudalies is De Sousa’s flagship old-vine cuvée, from very old Chardonnay in Avize, vinified and aged in oak and given long ageing on lees. The 2010 shows layered aromas of lemon curd, baked apple and stone fruit, with toasted brioche, hazelnut and a vivid chalky imprint. The palate is powerful yet refined, with fine bubbles, deep fruit, vibrant acidity and a long, saline, slightly smoky finish. It’s a serious, gastronomic Champagne with real Grand Cru intensity.
