About this wine

This Chiaretto is made from Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara grown on clay-limestone soils around Calmasino in Bardolino. Whole clusters are gently foot-trodden in small boxes, with free-run juice transferred directly into tonneau and the remaining fruit carefully pressed while the final pressings are excluded. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation occur spontaneously in 500-litre barrels before extended ageing on the lees in the same vessels. The resulting rosé combines raspberry, pomegranate and flowers with citrus and a distinct saline-mineral finish, offering far more texture and complexity than a simple summer rosé.

Tasting Note

Critics describe raspberry, red berries, pomegranate and fine herbs in a delicate, luminous rosé that is dry, fresh, lightly spicy and particularly saline and mineral on the finish.

In the glass

Delicate luminous pink.

In the nose

Raspberry, wild strawberry, pomegranate, flowers, citrus and fine Mediterranean herbs.

On the palate

Silky and fresh, with juicy red fruit, bright acidity, fine texture and a long saline-mineral finish.

Tenuta La Cà

Founded by brothers Pietro and Aldo Giambenini near Lake Garda, Tenuta La Cà is a family estate dedicated to organic viticulture and precise, terroir-focused winemaking. Their wines reflect the freshness and delicate character of Bardolino, with particular attention to individual vineyard parcels.

Vinification

Hand-harvested Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara are foot-trodden as whole clusters, gently pressed, spontaneously fermented and taken through malolactic fermentation in 500 L tonneaux, then aged 6–8 months on the lees in the same barrels and bottled directly without filtration or pumping.
