About this wine

Les Manyes is planted to Garnatxa Peluda (hairy-leaf Grenache) on clay-limestone rather than slate, at around 800 m above sea level. This unique terroir gives very pale colour, high acidity and an almost Pinot-like delicacy backed by tremendous inner power. Whole-cluster fermentation and ageing in concrete/foudres preserve an incredibly pure, floral, spicy expression. 2023 continues the run that has seen Les Manyes frequently score at or near 100 points.

Tasting Note

The 2023 is described as perfumed and transparent, with red berries, rose petals, blood orange and chalky minerality, gliding across the palate in a silky, weightless texture before a very long, precise, saline finish.

In the glass

Very pale, luminous ruby.

In the nose

Wild strawberry, raspberry, rose, blood orange zest, white pepper and wet chalk.

On the palate

Silky and almost weightless; ultra-fine tannins, piercing acidity, red fruit and citrus with a haunting, chalk-saline, endlessly long finish.

Terroir al Límit

Terroir al Límit, led by Dominik Huber, brought a Burgundian sensibility to Priorat: whole clusters, gentle extractions and large neutral vessels. The wines are lighter on their feet than classic blockbusters, but no less profound – redder fruit, floral lift and a cool, stony backbone. It’s a benchmark for elegant, site-transparent Priorat.
