About this wine

Terra de Cuques Negre is sourced from biodynamically farmed Carinyena and Garnatxa vineyards around Torroja, vinified with whole bunches and indigenous yeasts and aged in concrete. It sits stylistically between a fresh, juicy village wine and a mini-Dits/Arbossar: dark berry fruit, spice and anise with plenty of slate-driven minerality, moderate alcohol and a savoury, food-friendly profile. 2022 continues the move toward lighter extraction and less oak, emphasising drinkability.

Tasting Note

Aromas of blackberry, blueberry and plum with violets, licorice and smoky notes; the palate is medium-plus bodied with juicy dark fruit, firm but approachable tannins and a long, slightly spicy, stony finish.

In the glass

Deep ruby-purple.

In the nose

Blackberry, mulberry, violets, licorice, black pepper and warm slate.

On the palate

Juicy but structured; dark berry fruit, savoury spice and graphite with firm, slightly rustic tannins and a dry, mineral finish.

Terroir al Límit

Terroir al Límit, led by Dominik Huber, brought a Burgundian sensibility to Priorat: whole clusters, gentle extractions and large neutral vessels. The wines are lighter on their feet than classic blockbusters, but no less profound – redder fruit, floral lift and a cool, stony backbone. It’s a benchmark for elegant, site-transparent Priorat.
