About this wine

Valentini’s Trebbiano comes exclusively from low-yielding estate vineyards around Loreto Aprutino and is made according to methods that have changed remarkably little over generations. The grapes are manually harvested and rigorously selected before spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and long maturation in large oak casks. No fining or filtration is used, preserving both texture and the wine’s singular personality. The resulting white is deeply layered, moving between citrus, white flowers, ripe peach, herbs, honey, nuts and mineral notes over a powerful but remarkably fresh palate.

Tasting Note

Critics describe an intense, layered bouquet of citrus, flowers, chamomile, hazelnut and roasted notes, with a graceful but concentrated palate and an exceptionally long, continuous saline finish.

In the glass

Deep straw-yellow with bright golden reflections.

In the nose

Citrus, ripe peach, white flowers, chamomile, medicinal herbs, honey, hazelnut and subtle toasted notes.

On the palate

Rich and layered yet remarkably dynamic, with citrus freshness, dense texture, pronounced salinity and an exceptionally long evolving finish.

Valentini

One of Italy’s most revered traditional estates, Valentini is led by Francesco Paolo Valentini, continuing the legacy of his father Edoardo. Renowned for exceptional Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, the estate follows a remarkably restrained approach to winemaking, producing profound, complex and exceptionally age-worthy wines.
